Nook vs. Kindle vs. IPad (help me!!!)

So I am thinking about getting an ereader, Yaa! I just need help picking out which one. I am clueless in which one to get! I love the Nook. it looks nice and it has a touch screen. Then again the kindle is so easy to use. But the IPad is soo cool, and you can use it for what ever! I really need yall's help. Dose anyone have an ereader? Which one do you like best? Again I am clueless on this stuff. :D So tell me Nook. Kindle. IPad

  1. I have a Nook Color and an iPad, and personally, I recommend the Nook. I LOVE my Nook Color to death, it really is great to use and the setup of it is great. I've used a Kindle before, and I liked it, but I still like my Nook better.

  2. I have a Kindle and my boyfriend has an iPad. The iPad definitely does more and is more "snazzy" -- sleek touch screen, bright colors, lots of apps, quick interface, etc. -- but it's WAY more expensive. The iBooks app is pretty, but it's hard on your eyes (b/c it's just like reading a computer screen), and the Apple store is hard to browse (you really have to know what you're looking for -- but you could always use the Kindle app instead and then you're buying from Amazon).

I LOVE my Kindle for reading, b/c it's the closest thing to a page-look that you can get. It's easy on the eyes, although at night you have to use a light (just like a normal book) b/c the Kindle is not backlit. Amazon's store & selection are unbeatable. I HAVE used my Kindle to check email and Twitter on vacation (when my boyfriend wouldn't share his iPad, lol) and it's usable but clunky. Still, for READING, I wouldn't trade my Kindle for anything. (I have an iPod Touch to do some of the other online stuff more easily.) I also use Swagbucks.com to earn gift cards at Amazon.

  3. PS: All that was from me, Kristan. The other WHYA girls don't have ereaders.

  4. I like the Nook, I enjoyed it's full color features but I ended up purchasing a Kobo Touch.

  5. I love love love my Color Nook! Plus you can get library books on it, and you can't get them on the Kindle (as of yet). You can read Simon & Schuster Galley Grab and Netgalley titles on the Nook as well! I know you can't use the Kindle with Galley Grab. I feel like all I do is read Galley Grab books, they have the BEST titles!

LMK if you have any other questions!

  6. I LOVE the new nook. I haven't had the chance to try it out yet, but i do have the nook original. I did a lot of research before I bought my nook and eventually chose it over the kindle because of customization and epub.

Don't get ipad. It's not ideal for reading because of the LCD.

  7. I love my Kindle. It is so great for just reading books on. But I am limited to Amazon books and NetGalley books.
If we had the funds I would probably like to get an Ipad (or something similar) because I could put my S&S Galley Grabs on it, still do Kindle books, I think you can put library books on it too (maybe only certain libraries). And then right when I was done with a book on it I could flip over to my blog on the same device and type up my review.
You would just have to be okay with staring at a computer like screen for a while.

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
