Ashlyn: A lonely society princess living in New York City.

Daddy hired you to be my bodyguard.

Colin: Childhood enemy, now her protector.

Daddy thought I’d be safe. He thought I’d never fall in love. He thought he could keep me forever.

Charles: obsessed with keeping her safe, keeping her his, he hires the one person he knows she could never fall in love with: Colin.

Daddy was wrong.

I have wanted to read this book forever! I seen it on Goodreads one day and need to read it! I really loved this book! The title explains it all. Jennifer Lauren's is a great writer. I was instantly in love with this book.

The title is perfect for the book. It explains it all.

How can parents be too overprotected? Well Ashlyn's parents have passed the bar of obsessed. I really felt bad for Ashlyn's character. I wouldn't be able to stand parents like hers. If Ashlyn goes anywhere her body guard fallows. I would hate that! Never really having any alone time. I need my alone time, trust me.

Her dad really was something. He is WAY too protective. It felt like he had a five year old, not a young adult, the way her treated Ashlyn. Also her manners! Oh my goodness! Her mother was on her constantly! It made me want to pull my hair out!

I knew what was going to happen, or I had a good guess anyway. I really did enjoy the plot. It was something different.

Overall I really liked the book. The characters are okay. The plot was what really made me fall in love with the book.

Jennifer has a really great writing style. I cannot wait to read more from her!

  5. It would be really frustrating to have parents who go that far overboard. The plot definitely sounds fascinating. I want to read it.

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
