2 girls + 3 guys + 1 house – parents = 10 things April and her friends did that they (definitely, maybe, probably) shouldn't have.
If given the opportunity, what sixteen-year-old wouldn't jump at the chance to move in with a friend and live parent-free? Although maybe "opportunity" isn't the right word, since April had to tell her dad a tiny little untruth to make it happen (see #1: "Lied to Our Parents"). But she and her housemate Vi are totally responsible and able to take care of themselves. How they ended up "Skipping School" (#3), "Throwing a Crazy Party" (#8), "Buying a Hot Tub" (#4), and, um, "Harboring a Fugitive" (#7) at all is kind of a mystery to them.
In this hilarious and bittersweet tale, Sarah Mlynowski mines the heart and mind of a girl on her own for the first time. To get through the year, April will have to juggle a love triangle, learn to do her own laundry, and accept that her carefully constructed world just might be falling apart . . . one thing-she-shouldn't-have-done at a time.

This was just the book I thought it would be! I wanted a realistic teen book, with love,  heart break, and hilarious characters! Ten Things We Did was just that. I really enjoyed this novel. I was laughing my butt off, and then screaming at the characters.

The book starts off with some major action. Your wondering whats going on, and are laughing at the scene. Your confused for a while, but it will al start to make sense.

This was more then just a teenagers time of the life, living on the edge book. Their is a serious side through out the novel. Which I just loved even more! Their are some relationship issues, but they aren't the childish stuff we are used to hearing.

I really liked the characters. Amy was mature and level headed, well most of the time. She was very well developed. Her character has an image that she has to keep up for her parents, and as you read the story you learn more and more about what is beneath the surface.

Let me warn you know. Yes, their is sex in this book. It is not the romantic... (I don't even know where to go with this), but more on the consequences you face and the effects it can have on you. I admire Sarah for writing about this topic, many YA author's won't.

I knew what was going to happen next. It didn't really bother me that the plot was predictable. This might have had something to do with taking health class right before I read the book...

Sarah does a great job of making everything very realistic. This is another reason I found it really enjoyable.

The writing is excellent, the cover is cute, the characters have depth, and it is a funny book. What more could a YA reader need? This really was a great read. I enjoyed it  till the last page!

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
