Ink Exchange

Series: Bk.2 (Wicked Lovely)
Publisher: Harper Teen
How Received: Borrowed, but now own a lovely copy!

Ink Exchange is the sequel to a wonderful and interesting book called Wicked Lovely. Wicked Lovely's star character, Aislin, had her turn being in the spotlight. Her best friend, Leslie, is taking her turn in Ink Exchange. Leslie has a horrible older brother named Ren, who lets his friends take advantage of her and "make nice" with her, as she said in the book. Shes tired of this life and wants change, which is what Irial intends to give her. She wants no more pain and sadness. To Leslie, the way to get change is to get a tattoo at her friend Rabbit's tattoo shop called Pins and Needles. She chooses the sign of Irial, but doesn't know it, and wants it on her as soon as possible. Rabbit is hesitant but knows how in need Leslie is. Ounce he starts working on it, Leslie starts changing. She starts 'tasting' people's emotions. Irial catches up to her and explains that he has stolen her mortality. She also is in love with the faerie named Niall, the most important one in the Summer Court besides Keenan and Aislin. She has no choice but to stay with Irial, despite her love for Niall. Leslie never imagined her life being this complicated-let alone without Ren any more.

I hate to admit it but I liked this book more than the first. And I loved the fist one! Leslie is the main focus, instead of  Ash. Altho Ash is still in it.

I liked Leslie's character more than Ash. I have no idea why. Leslie was have a hard time with almost every thing. She had to face some real life situations, which I thought made her seem even more realistic. I could relate to Leslie in some ways, like feeling lost. But Leslie goes through much more. Her dad is an alcoholic, and her brothers a druggie. So she's basically taking care of her self.

Irial and Niall are the two men...faeries that are vying for her attention. Both come with secrets that Leslie would have never guessed. I was more towards Niall, and I was rooting for him the whole way through. One of the lesser characters was actually my favorite. Rabbit, he owns the tattoo shop 'Needles and Pens'. He was so kind towards Leslie. He treated her like a younger sister.

Overall I loved this book. The plot was amazing! You wont be able to put this book down!

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
