I have never been one to get to emotional reading books, but when I was reading 'Crescendo' I was screaming at the characters!Nora Grey's life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn't pleasant, but atleast she got a guardian angel out of it: a mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But, despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He's more elusive than ever and even worse, he's started spending time with Nora's arch-enemy, Marcie Millar.
Nora would have hardly noticed Scott Parnell, an old family friend who has moved back to town, if Path hadnt been acting so distant. Even with Scott's totally infuriating attitude Nora finds herself drawn to him - despite her lingering feeling that he's hiding something.
Haunted by images of her murdered father, and questioning whether her nephilim bloodline has anything to do with his death, Nora puts herself increasingly in dangerous situations as she desperatly searches for answers. But maybe some things are better left buried, because the truth could destroy everything - and everyone - she trusts.
I was so frustrated with Nora throughout the whole book! To me I thought she was being a little to conceited. Then Patch...don't even get me started with him. Gosh, sometimes all I could do was shake the book, and mutter to myself that things would turn out. And then Marcie comes into the picture, and I wanted to throw the book! (but I didn't, I could never hurt a book :] ) I was so mad at Patch and Marcie, and almost all the other characters. I don't know why, I just was. I thought Nora was strong in this book, and liked that. She could stand up for herself. Scott was one of those other characters that made me mad, but you just have to read and find out why. :P
The plot was slightly less focused on Patch and Nora's relationship, and more focused on discovering more about Nora's father, and her past. I thought the plot had developed the series to a deep, and more interesting, level.
And the ENDING! Ahhh, you will be so mad at where Becca Fitzpatrick decided to wrap up the story. It is a major cliffhanger!
I can't wait to read this! Good review.
