Everything about Jessie Gillmansen’s life changed when her mother died. Now even her hometown of Junction is changing.  Mysterious dark things are happening. All Jessie wants is to avoid more change. But showing a hot new guy around Junction High, she’s about to discover a whole new type of change. Pietr Rusakova is more than good looks and a fascinating accent—he’s a guy with a dangerous secret. And his very existence is sure to bring big trouble to Jessie’s small town.  It seems change is the one thing Jessie can’t avoid…
13 to Life was a good book. I liked the romance, but now a day’s all the books fallow a Romeo and Juliet or Twilight romance. When will someone break this cycle!? The one thing in this book that bugged me was; Jess rides horses, as do I, but in one of the chapters the author wrote 'I flicked the reins telling the horse to walk on'. NO! You don't flick the reins! Gosh people! You use your legs and cluck! Okay, all better now. But people seriously!

Pietr being a what he is was no surprise at all. Easy to guess in the beginning. And I don't know if Jess was just so oblivious  to the fact, or didn't look close at reality, but there were so many signs of him being a what he is and she just avoided them.  I felt like the book was side stepping around the purpose, only to make us dizzy. Even with all the information that was crammed in this book, some of my questions still remain unanswered. I hope they will be answered with the second book!

Even with this negative I still loved the characters. Pietr just might beat Jace, Jacob, and Edward on my literature male hotties.  He's secretive, and hard working. Oh and I forgot to mention he rides 4- wheelers! Awesome.

Even if I had a rough time with this book, I will be picking up the second as soon as it’s out!

My Rating:
                      (4 Stars)

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
