Henrietta, the legendary Dragon Slayer of the Kingdom of Bleuve, can't stomach the thought of one more kill. Yet, in order to save her dying mentor, she must go on one last quest. But will misfit companions, seasickness, and an ego maniacal king derail the quest for the healing stone? And will she be able to cut past her conscience and kill the dragon?
I was pleasantly surprised with this book! The
synopsis caught my attention, because dragons are just awesome, but I had no
idea what to expect. Can I just add that I loved the movie How to Train Your
Dragon! :D Okay off subject. Anyways, this book took me on a journey that I
will not forget!
With the characters their was a mix of ones I
loved and ones I hated. I LOVED Henrietta! She is this kick- butt heroine, who
doesn't take orders from anyone. Her attitude was perfect! And I loved her
witty humor. I also loved Jaxter. His comical ways had me laughing through the
novel. And of course I loved Franc! The character I didn't like to much was
Paulette. She just bothered me. I felt sometimes she was in the way. At the end
she is a huge help, but she screws up so many times, is she really a good character? So
loved most, but didn't love all the characters.
I would love to journey to Bleuve! It sounds
absolutely amazing. Beth does a fabulous job with descriptions of the places
the characters see.
The story is somewhat predictable, but you
will be second guessing yourself! Their are many twist and turns that this
novel takes.
Overall I was pleased with this novel! It was
short and sweet. The characters and the settings really make this book. If you
love fantasy novels with kick butt hero's and humor you will love this
book!
