For eighteen year-old Gemma, life has never been normal. Up until recently, she has been incapable of feeling emotion. And when she's around Alex, the gorgeous new guy at school, she can feel electricity that makes her skin buzz. Not to mention the monsters that haunt her nightmares have crossed over into real-life. But with Alex seeming to hate her and secrets popping up everywhere, Gemma's life is turning into a chaotic mess. Things that shouldn't be real suddenly seem to exist. And as her world falls apart, figuring out the secrets of her past becomes a matter of life and death.

This book was what I wanted and more! I tore through this book, and loved it.

What caught my 'eye' was the cover. The purple eye intrigued me. I mean who has purple eyes? A Vmpire? A Werewolf? Hmmm. So then I read the synopsis. From then on I had to get this book.

I loved some of the characters, but others not so much. Gemma is a great main character. She's strong, and sometimes stubborn. She was really easy to like. Alex is a pain. He is so set in his ways, and dosn't listen to Gemma. I will say this: I think Alex is bipolar. The love between the two is swoon worthy! :D I don't know if it's just me or what, but I love a book that has some romance and fighting in it! My favorite character out of the book was Laylen. <3 So not only is he super nice to Gemma, and caring, and funny, he has a whole other different side. I just adored him.

Through the whole book I was piecing together the puzzle.  Of course I knew what was going to happen before the characters did, but that just makes the book even more intense! I was getting so frustrated with the characters for not realizing what was going on before it was to late.

The ending was a huge cliff hanger. I love them, but I hate them.

I know their was a lot left open in this book. A lot of history between the characters, and a lot of mystery. So I can not wait till the second book in the series comes out, The Underworld. It can't come out soon enough!

If you love anything with romance or paranormal stuff PICK THIS BOOK UP! I really loved this book. Jessica is an amazing writer, and I can't wait to read more from her. :D

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
