"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains."

So begins
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, an expanded edition of the beloved Jane Austen novel featuring all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie mayhem. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy.

What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead.

Can she vanquish the spawn of Satan? And overcome the social prejudices of the class-conscious landed gentry? Complete with romance, heartbreak, swordfights, cannibalism, and thousands of rotting corpses,
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you'd actually want to read.

The title of the book is more then enough to hint at what this novel will be about. Take Pride and Prejudice throw in some zombies and tah-da! You now have a kick-butt heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, who can slay zombies faster than one can count! This novel is not for everyone. Didn't like Pride and Prejudice? Don't read it! Don't like rotting skin, beheadings, or violence? Then spare your queasy stomach. If any of the things listed before do not bother you then pick up this book! I found this to be an enjoyable read.

The characters can be both interesting and bothersome. I love the antics Elizabeth presents. And Mr. Dracy is a pain in the butt, as always. But over all I love the strong message Elizabeth and her sisters put out. Women are far more then capable to take care of themselves during a zombie raid.

The book includes several interesting illustrations. This one was probably my favorite. It shows you exactly what I was talking about before. Elizabeth and her sisters can kick some zombie butt!

This may novel may not be of interest to all my readers, but the select few that like zombies pick this book up! You won't be disappointed.

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
