He will remain until she makes three wishes.Jinn is anxious to return home, but Viola is terrified of wishing, afraid she will not wish for the right thing, the thing that will make her truly happy. As the two spend time together, the lines between master and servant begin to blur, and soon Jinn can't deny that he's falling for Viola. But it's only after Viola makes her first wish that she realizes she's in love with Jinn as well . . . and that if she wishes twice more, he will disappear from her life—and her world—forever.
Jackson Pearce spins a magical tale about star-crossed lovers, what it means to belong . . . and how important it is to be careful what you wish for.
My Review
As You Wish was a funny, easy read, and cute! This is the first book I have read by Jackson Pearce, but I will defiantly be picking up her book Sister's Red, as soon as I can!

This book was really cute! It didn't take me long to finish this novel. I read it in one seating! It jumps right in, and it keeps you locked with the interesting plot and characters. I really like reading about genies, or a jinn in this case!

I could really relate to Viola! I am in high school right now, and I feel like I just walked in her shoes the day before. I feel invisible in such a large high school. Her realistic teen characteristics sold the novel for me! I loved Jinn! He was witty. I loved some of his humorous come backs. He also was very sweet, once he and Viola got closer. I liked Lawrence, yes she is gay, but I thought he was a very sweet guy. He really did care for Viola.

I love the genie aspect! When I was little I loved the Disney Movie Aladdin! I am dead serious when I say I watched that movie three times a week! :) So this brought back childhood memories for me.

The book switched point of view between Viola and Jinn. I really liked this because you got to see what both of the main characters think. This helped you understand their actions too.

I am not a big fan on the cover. I thinks it's okay, but I have seen a lot better from Harper Teen.

I really enjoyed this novel! If you’re looking for a cute, and funny read. But also has a deeper side to it about self acceptance then pick up As You Wish!

  1. It sounds good, but the cover looks a bit cheesy to me. Maybe I'll pick it up after I've narrowed my wishlist down(:

  4. Although the genie aspect was cool, I didn't really like how the characters switched perspectives, I guess I prefer to stick with one character :) GFC Krystal Larson

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
