Six months have passed since Laurel saved the gateway to the faerie realm of Avalon. Now she must spend her summer there, honing her skills as a Fall faerie. But her human family and friends are still in mortal danger--and the gateway to Avalon is more compromised than ever.
When it comes time to protect those she loves, will she depend on David, her human boyfriend, for help? Or will she turn to Tamani, the electrifying faerie with whom her connection is undeniable?
Pike dosn't disapoint with her second book in her stunning series Wings! I loved her first book. Wings was a very interesting, and a new spin on faeries. I can't say to much, because I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read her first book.
Spells pick up right where Wings left off. Laurel has been sent to Avalon for the summer. She knows what she is, and she is trying to learn her peoples way to protect her family. David is still super sweet. Tamani is hot and just ahhh! It is really hard to choose between the two!
This book had just as much mystery and suspense as the first book. It won't take you long to finish this book, because you won't be able to put it down!
I love Aprilynne's writing style. She has a talent for weaving together a great plot, and characters.

Oh, I just downloaded WINGS from Amazon! Good to know the sequel is good too!
ReplyDeleteBtw, we are four YA writers and avid readers, and we just started a new blog to talk about YA literature. It's not so much book reviews as talking about different issues, trends, etc. We are hoping to connect with real teen readers, and we would love to see you there!
