Theia Alderson has always led a sheltered life in the small California town of Serendipity Falls. But when a devastatingly handsome boy appears in the halls of her school, Theia knows she's seen Haden before- not around town, but in her dreams.
As the Haden of both the night and the day beckons her closer one moment and pushes her away the next, the only thing Theia knows for sure is that the incredible pull she feels towards him is stronger than her fear.
And when she discovers what Haden truly is, Theia's not sure if she wants to resist him, even if the cost is her soul.
I was falling under within the first 30 pages! Gwen Hayes has created a dark and beautiful tale, that will keep you guessing! Her remarkable characters and her talent for creating amazingly detailed scenes just fed the unique plot!
Lets start with the beautiful cover. The black roses are a perfect touch. I love how the cover model looks. And her hair! I love her hair. The cover also has the soft feel to it like Fallen does!
I really liked Theia's character. She lived a sheltered life, and everything was going for her, but she knew their was more. She wanted love. Her father wasn't really sure how to show love. Theia starts dreaming about freaky places, with an alarmingly handsome man. He is everything Theia needs. Then when she starts seeing him in real life she thinks she's lost it. Her friends believe it's fate. Theia isn't so sure.
Haden was the boy that filled Theia's dreams and her heart. He was so perfect! You will be confused about what he is, but it all adds up in the end. He knows what he is, but he fights it. He tries to do the right thing. Even if it's a huge sacrifice to him. Haen has the same proper way of speaking that Edward Cullen has. Me being me fell for his charm!
Amidst all of confusing love between the main characters you have some side line action. Theia's friends have their own guy issues. I really like that the book was able to venture into other relationships.
Their are a few point of view changes. I really like when the author throws in a point of view change. I think it helps the reader further understand the characters and the plot. Plus hearing more from Haden! Yes, please!
I loved this debut, and I hope Gwen will write more! She can't just leave us hanging!

I loved, loved, loved this book. I was only a little surprised that the main character seemed to be so willing to give up her human life. I loved the love interest, even though he annoyed me with his constant refusals...GFC Krystal Larson
