When high school junior Natalie - or Dr. Aphrodite, as she calls herself when writing the relationship column for her school paper - is accused of knowing nothing about guys and giving girls bad relationship advice, she decides to investigate what guys really think and want. But the guys in her class won't give her straight or serious answers. The only solution? Disguising herself as a guy and spending a week at Underwood Academy, the private all-boy boarding school in town. There she learns a lot about guys and girls in ways she never expected - especially when she falls for her dreamy roommate, Emilio. How can she show him she likes him without blowing her cover?
My Review
Hilarious! I could not put this down! Every page I turned I was laughing out loud! On top of the comedy their was a great message about being yourself! This is the first book that I have read by Jody German. It will certainly not be the last. She has a talent for creating great characters, and a funny, but interesting plot. I will most likely be picking up one of her books to read. I love the cover of this book! The mustache is hilarious! The models eyes are gorgeous. I love the Theater type font that was used. I thought it was a nice touch.

Natalie was a great main character. She was brave enough to go undercover for the sake of Dr. Aphrodite. She was witty and easy to like. I thought she did a great job going undercover. Her friends where funny, and they made the book that much better. While she's undercover she meets plenty of prep boys, some good and some bad. Emilio.... was HOT! I instantly liked his character. I always fall for the deep, brooding types...

This was a very cute and funny read. At first I thought this was going to be just like 'She's the Man' movie. And in some cases it was, but at the same time it had a lot more going on and was very interesting. I love Jody's writing style. I can't wait to read more from her! Pick up this book if you see it! You won't be disappointed. It was a great read.

Key Points

  • Very funny! You will laugh all the way through.
  • A quick and easy read.
  • For fans of the movie She's The Man.

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
