Lexie Diamond loves her computer. She loves to surf the Web more than anything else--and to the exclusion of a social life. Beyond being just a computer geek, Lexie has developed a unique philosophy that the essential truth about life is found on the Internet, which she navigates with the expertise and finesse of a true believer.
Then a tragic accident rocks Lexie's cyber-driven world and forces her to navigate the real world after all. With the aid of an unexpected ally--her first actual friend--not only is Lexie drawn into a mystery surrounding the accident, but she discovers more magic in the Web than she ever dreamed possible.
Along the way Lexie's beliefs are challenged, her family is turned upside down, and her future is threatened. In this visionary tour de force by a promising new novelist, Lexie must decide what is real and what is virtual: Her life depends on it.

I was pleasantly surprised by The Virtual Life of Lexie Diamond! I may not be gear-head or a geek ( Okay maybe a geek....),  but this novel had an interesting enough plot!

Lexie was an interesting main character to say the least. She is trying to deal with school, divorced parents, and well just being a teenage girl. She is obsessed with the computer. She even named hers! At first she would even lie about using her computer to her mother. Of course when her mom dies, Lexie feels awful about it. Little does Lexie know that her dead mom now wants her to get on the computer. I am trying not to give to much away here, but it's hard. Lexie's dad made me so angry at times. I would be reading then just say 'Really? I mean come on!'. I get that he's suffering the loss of his ex wife, but some of the choices he made where not the brightest. Let's just say one character, that I will leave unnamed, really bothered me....

Their was a slight episode of horse riding in this! Anytime a book has horse riding in it I flip!

Let's talk about the cover. Not very attractive right. I get the feeling they were trying to set, future-y, tecno, and mysterious, but I really don't like it. It looks more like a middle grade novel.  Soo me being me I got board one day and look what I came up with:

This is just my cover re-creation! My first one at that, but do you like it? This is how I think the book should of looked.

Victoria did a great job with her first novel. I believe that this book is more leaning towards a Middle Grade novel, it was still a mysterious, nail bitting read

Recent Reviews

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
