I was really surprised with Elixir. I was hesintant to pick this up at first. I thought 'Wow, really. Hilary wrote a book? Since when?' I'm not hating on Hilary! I loved her on Lizzie McGuire! Then after that I rocked out to her music for years! Anyways, one random day I thought what the hay! This book was nothing like I pictured it, okay well a little.
At first I thought okay this is going to me another love triangle paranormal romance. It was paranormal, their is a love triangle, and yes the plot is some-what predictable. If you can just start this with a positive attatudie I think you will enjoy it!
Clea was an okay main character. She had some good qualities and some bad. I loved that she loved photography, because I also love photography. So some bad: She's blind! Not literally, but blind to her surroundings. (Does that make sense?) She also relies to much on the worst person. Her best friend Rayna. To put it bluntly Rayna is a slut... or as Clea describes her ' A romantic who finds her soulmate every night.' Ben was the always-present best friend, or maybe more? Then Sage, the man in the photos. He's a dark, mysterious, and some times confusing.
I felt like the story started off really slow, then all of a sudden BAM, then BAM BAM! The plot felt to easy, and it all fitted together a little to perfectly for my taste.
The cover is simple, but pretty. And it's purple, my favorite color! It also has that soft feel to it!
I will most likely pick up the sequel. I can't just drop a series.

Huh... I've been really curious about this book. I like Hilary, but I just can't picture her as an author. But thanks or the review, it's been very helpful! I might pick this up too some time. :)

I couldn't picture Hilary as an author either...I keep seeing her in those movies and not putting it together. Clea is an odd name, but she sounds like an ok character. GFC Krystal Larson I might have to pick up this book
