When seventeen-year-old Ellie starts seeing reapers - monstrous creatures who devour humans and send their souls to Hell - she finds herself on the front lines of a supernatural war between archangels and the Fallen and faced with the possible destruction of her soul.
A mysterious boy named Will reveals she is the reincarnation of an ancient warrior, the only one capable of wielding swords of angelfire to fight the reapers, and he is an immortal sworn to protect her in battle. Now that Ellie's powers have been awakened, a powerful reaper called Bastian has come forward to challenge her. He has employed a fierce assassin to eliminate her - an assassin who has already killed her once.
While balancing her dwindling social life and reaper-hunting duties, she and Will discover Bastian is searching for a dormant creature believed to be a true soul reaper. Bastian plans to use this weapon to ignite the End of Days and to destroy Ellie's soul, ending her rebirth cycle forever. Now, she must face an army of Bastian's most frightening reapers, prevent the soul reaper from consuming her soul, and uncover the secrets of her past lives - including truths that may be too frightening to remember.
My Review

A book with violence, cute boys, angles, and more violence! I LOVED this! Angelfire was one of those books that you can't put down!

I had heard so much about this! And mostly good! I could not wait to get my hands on it. For a debut I loved it! Courtney Moulton can write some epic fighting scene!

I liked Ellie! I thought she was a kick butt heroine. She has swords that light on fire, and she kills reapers! How awesome is that?! I felt like I could relate to Ellie. I remember her mentioning DVD's of Sailor Moon and I thought 'Hey! I loved that show!' Ellie was a believable teenage girl. Will oh *SWOON*! Will was the hot guardian that had me laughing so many times throughout the book. I loved Will (Well of course I did!). He was so sweet, but confusing all at the same time. I liked Caden too (I'm sorry I can't help it XD) Do I smell a love triangle coming?

What about the cover? Uhmm hello its gorgeous! I love how bad Ellie looks. :P That's just how I pictured her! I hope they put Will on the next cover!

Courtney Moulton has some pretty awesome writing skills! In some of the battle scene it felt like you were right there. Yes I know that sounds cheesy, but for-real! This book was very very enjoyable! I can not wait till the second book comes out; I'm going to go mark my calender! AHH If you want some hot guys and a kick butt girl read Angelfire!

  2. I quite enjoyed Angelfire. I loved the battle scenes, although I thought the dialogue was really cheesy. The action was good though. Even though the book sometimes annoyed me, Moulton's writing was so enticing that I couldn't put it down.

  3. I really loved this book, but I was confused at the ending-will there be a second novel? She is a very strong character, but I didn't liked how she would make split decisions and not seem to thing very much...GFC Krystal Larson

  4. Oh good, a writer who can describe action scenes well! (:
Those are the best ones of all. I sort of thought the review lacked something...but maybe it was just that the Clarity review was too good...HM, who knows. I still like your review writing. Anyways, this book sounds intriguing, and I like strong heriones. I'll check it out! Again, thank you for doing such a good job at this!

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
