Cheerleader Isobel Lanley is horrified when she is paired with Varen Nethers for an English project, which is due—so unfair—on the day of the rival game. Cold and aloof, sardonic and sharp-tongued, Varen makes it clear he’d rather not have anything to do with her either. But when Isobel discovers strange writing in his journal, she can’t help but give this enigmatic boy with piercing eyes another look.
Soon, Isobel finds herself making excuses to be with Varen. Steadily pulled away from her friends and her possessive boyfriend, Isobel ventures deeper and deeper into the dream world Varen has created through the pages of his notebook, a realm where the terrifying stories of Edgar Allan Poe come to life.
As her world begins to unravel around her, Isobel discovers that dreams, like words, hold more power than she ever imagined and that the most frightening realities are those of the mind. Now she must find a way to reach Varen before he is consumed by the shadows of his own nightmares.
His life depends on it.
'Nevermore' is a bit offsetting at first, but if you just keep trekking through it you will see that it is such an amazing book! I was debating on what rating I should give this book. At the beginning I wanted to give it low ratings, and I'll tell you why in a minute. But as I read on the rating kept going up! The ending just blew me out of the water! So 'Nevermore' gets a five!

The reason I was struggling in the beginning of the book was because I HATED Isobel's character. She was the stereotypical cheerleader. Her boyfriend was on the football team. and she acted like she owned everybody ( I will admit she was kind towards Varen). Her character was the only reason I was having such a hard time with this book. I absolutely loved Varen! Oh how I loved him! His character was amazing, and he had a lip ring! Haha! As the novel progresses Isobel starts to change as her and Varen grow closer. She losses most of her preppy attitude. Pinfeathers and all the other ghoul's where one of the creepy, yet cool side characters.

With that aside, the plot was so... surprising and different!  It was a little confusing at times. And I did have to do a little re-reading.

This was a thrilling read! It was full of twist and turns, and it was somewhat scary. If you like Poe, and even if you don't, you will like this book.If you can just get past the first few chapters, and discover that Isobel does change for the better. You will be bitting your nails through all the suspense and action in this novel!

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
