Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

This book has been highly anticipated. I was counting down the days till it came out. What made me so antsy to get this book? Well for starters the cover is beautiful! Then I saw the book trailer, watch it here. I just new this was going to be a fascinating read, and it was!

Matched is a dystopian love story. Cassia has to decide to follow the rules or break away and follow her heart. The Society Condie has created is completely mind blowing! It will take you a while to get used to this new way of life she has created. All the rules the citizens have to follow are so detailed. The Officials control everything. They tell them who to love, where to work, and when to die. The Officials have everyone tied to strings, and they are pulling them, but can Cassia break those ties?

Cassia is our strong wielded main character. She has a strange way of thinking sometimes, but I immediately fell in  love with her character! She was brave, very brave, and thats what drew me to like her. Her Match, Xander, has always been her friend. Always been by her side, always helping her, but is he really her best Match. Ky is the one who flashes on her Matching screen. Is he her true Match? Ky has been a friend, but to Cassia he has always seemed distant. I will say I am more towards Ky. Bram is Cassia's little brother. He adds a little comical relief, in this serious page turning read.

I am super happy that this is going to be a trilogy! Know I am just patiently waiting for Crossed to come out! (the second book in the series)

Recent Reviews

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
