CALLIE ANDREWS may not have money or connections or the right clothes, and she may have way too many complications in her love life, what with--
GREGORY
the guy she loves to hate
EVAN
the guy she'd love to forget
CLINT
the guy she'd love to love
and MATT
the guy she really should love
--all vying for her attention.
But she has three fantastic roommates (best friends or her worst nightmare?) and a wholesome California-girl reputation (oops) and brains and beauty and big, big dreams.
Will it be enough to survive freshman year at Harvard?

Callie is a college freshman with more on her plate then she can handle. Boys, Drama, Friends, Enemies, Pressure, Parties, and overloaded with work. It's just like hight school! the only difference now is that Callie has the freedom to do what she wants. But will she make the right decision?

This book grabbed me quick! It started with a cute little yearbook part, then jumped right to move in day! Where she slowly starts to meet guys, *cough* *cough*. It reminded me of the show Greek on ABC Family. I don't know why but every time it said Callie, I was thinking Casey. In the beginning fooled me. As the pages turned it revealed the true nature of the book.

It was all about getting drunk, laid, partying, and doing drugs! It's alright if a novel has some of these mentioned, but 'The Ivy' took it overboard to me. I'm sure that college isn't all partying, aren't I right? I realize that you'll face these things, talk about them, and sometimes experience them. 'The Ivy' on the other hand had every few paragraphs talk abut sex, then a few later talk about getting drunk. I just didn't like that very much. Another reason for my low rating is one of Callie's roommates is a Christian, and strongly believes in chastity. I was offend at how they portrayed her. At the slightest mention of sex, she would act childish, holding her ears saying, 'I can't here you!'. I am sure this was meant to be funny, but I found it offensive. I shouldn't be the only one offended, Harvard should also.

One thing that I loved about the book is the male characters. Well, most of them anyway. I loved Gregory's cocky attitude. Clint was the perfect gentleman, always looking out for Callie. Then Matt was the studious boy, who surprised me. I didn't like Evan very much.

Once the story got started the plot was predictable. If you want a funny love... triangle? No, square? I don't know. Some shape. This is a cute, and easy read. It could have gotten a five star rating if it didn't offend me in so many ways. So it's worth a shot to read it, because you may not be offended easily.

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
