Reading in these cold months.

For me, I have always hated reading when I'm cold. I just can't stand it! And my house is always freezing, so how do I keep warm as I read during these cold months? I am going to share some of my secrets that are.... errr not so secret.....(:

So here is a list of things that I use to fix my cold issues. (Not all at once, I'm not THAT high maintenance) :P
1. Gloves.
My hands pretty much always are cold. I have really poor blood flow which causes this :/ And I find it uncomfortable to read when my hands are freezing.

2. My Slippers/ House Shoes.
Must be cute! :) but more importantly warm!

3. Fuzzy Blanket.
Hehe! Yes, I love my fuzzy blankets! They really do keep you warm and toasty. Plus I refuse to by a snuggie.

4. Hot Chocolate!
Hey you have to love it! My little secret for the most awesome hot coco ever...ADD cinnamon! Really it is sooo amazing!

5. My Cat!
This little guy is probably the most important. I love him and he gives me warmth! :) A two in one deal.

No that isn't my cat, I just thought he was adorable and that he would make you smile. :) (Click on the image if the cat doesn't start moving)

Now, what do you curl up with when your cold? The same as me or something else? Let me know! Oh and isn't that cat cute ^-^ kawwii!

  1. Lol, that cat! I have so many pairs of slippers (my Where the Wild Things Are pair are my favorite!) but I hardly wear them. I also need a blanket and hot cocoa, but lately I've been obsessed with Stephen's peppermint hot chocolate. Yum! Oh, and I wish my cats liked me, but they only do when I have food. Lately my little girl has been wanting to get in my room to sleep, though, so I'll take what I can get. :) Great post!

  2. I just snuggle up in my recliner with some fuzzy socks and a blanket and read. It is not that cold in Arizona since I get no snow.

    Happy Holidays!

  3. I actually own panda house slippers. They keep my feet nice and warm while I write. I would wear gloves, but they bug me while I'm typing, so I opt for scarves and hats (they're not just for outdoors!). I do love hot cocoa, though lately it's been tea, tea, and more tea for me. You need to get gingerbread marshmallows. They're FANTASTIC in hot cocoa.

  4. Peppermint hot chocolate? Will have to try it! Same for the gingerbread marshmallows! I actually just saw some at my local store! :P

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
