Today I have the Author of Ten Things We Did! Sarah's novel was super funny! You can read my review HERE. Thanks to Sarah for stopping by, and for the girls over a The Teen Book Scene.

You write both YA and Adult novels. Which is easier for you to write? And is the process of writing them any different?
They’re both hard. YA books are shorter so in theory that should make them easier, but for some reason I haven’t found that to be the case. My process is the same no matter what I’m working on. Brainstorm, outline, first draft, revise like a crazy person, second draft, revise like an even crazier person…

You wrote a How To Be Bad with E. Lockhart and Lauren Myracle. How is collaborating different from writing alone?
So. Much. Fun! When we started, I barely knew Emily and Lauren, but by the time we were finished our first draft, we were best buds. And then Harper sent us on a six-week all-expense paid vacation…er, tour…. together.  There is video. Watch it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtryJlf7Imc&feature=fvsr) Collaborating makes writing so much more fun, and so much less lonely. How to Be Bad was my favorite writing experience ever. We are dying to work together again.

Which character is most like you in Ten Things We Did?
April. For sure. Her situation was inspired by my real life. When I was 17, I moved to my friend’s basement and slept on a futon. Like April, I’ve spent a lot of my life feeling uprooted. Also like April, I was clueless when it came to laundry. (I’m still a bit clueless when it comes to laundry. White shirts have been known to mysteriously turn pink.)

What is one thing you hope readers will learn from reading Ten Things We Did?
Go for it! But don’t be a moron.

Are you currently working on a new book? If so can you tell us a little about it?
I’ve just finished writing the first book in a chapter book series. It’s about a girl who falls into fairy tales and changes them.

And now on to the giveaway! Thanks to the publisher I have ONE hardback copy up for giveaway! It was a great novel, and any one looking for a good laugh will love it.

Revealing Eden by Victoria Foyt

When I read Dystopian books, I either love them or hate them. Most of the time I just can not connect with the characters, and sometimes it's the setting. But with Revealing Eden I was completely captivated with the world Victoria created.

Steel by Carrie Vaughn

Time travel and pirates. These are two words that I love to hear! I have always love time travel, and pirates have always interested me. So finding this book was like finding a buried treasure! ( why yes, that was super cheesy, but I couldn't resist!) In fact a book I am writing now has to do with time travel. :D hehe!

The Queen of Kentucky by Alecia Witaker

The Queen of Kentucky is a book that I, as a Kentucky native myself, could relate to. Being able to relate to the characters and the surroundings really made me enjoy this book. The Queen of Kentucky is one of those books that has such a great message.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

As soon as I got this book I tore into it! I could not wait to read it! And once I started Under the Never Sky it never let my hand. :) This is by far one of my favorite dystopian novels that I have read this year! Veronica really surprised me with her debut! Think of Under the Never Sky as awesome as Angelfire, and if you know me at all then you know that this novel blew my socks off! it!
